Job summary

Cook County Government is seeking a Senior Security Controls Assessor to test and evaluate security controls within IT systems, ensuring proper implementation and risk-based outcomes.

The role requires a strong background in RMF, HIPAA, CJIS, and related security frameworks, with emphasis on identifying weaknesses and preparing detailed assessment plans and reports. Chicago-area position with hybrid options may be available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher from accredited college/university.
• Four (4) years of technical security control assessment, design, audit, risk management, policy design and development experience or related.
• Valid driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

• Test and evaluate controls to ensure proper implementation and achievement of outcomes.
• Assess the quality of risk management processes to identify security and privacy strengths and weaknesses.
• Develop strategies to address deficiencies and prepare assessment plans and reports.
