Job summary

Anthropic is seeking a Compliance Lead to own security and AI safety audits, certifications, and regulatory engagements in a hybrid U.S. role.

You will translate complex controls into actionable work streams, develop scalable processes across multiple geographies, and drive audit readiness with internal teams and external assessors. This role shapes trust and safety in AI with regulators and customers.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in audit and compliance roles with ownership of certification/attestation.
• Experience with cloud-native environments and multi-cloud security considerations.
• Ability to translate complex compliance into actionable workstreams for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience integrating with controls frameworks or GRC systems at scale.
• Clear, useful security/privacy documentation for external/internal audiences.
• Comfort in fast-paced, ambiguity-filled environments building processes from scratch.
• Ability to manage time-bounded, delegated work streams across a diverse org.
• Ability to educate the organization and auditors on new compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Understand how security and privacy controls across cloud platforms implement common frameworks (NIST 800-53, 800-171, ISO 27001, ISO 27701, CSA CCM, SOC 2).
• Build scalable data center and hyperscaler processes and documentation for future geographies and frameworks.
• Assess and mitigate security and operational risks, implement corrective actions, manage vendor compliance.
• Coordinate engagements with independent assessors to earn security certifications and attestations for customers and partners.
• Write, update and enact policies capturing security, privacy, and AI safety requirements.
• Maintain and enhance security controls through audit readiness, recordkeeping, and cross-functional communication.
