Job summary

Smithspektrum is seeking a Principal Security Engineer to own and manage our security posture across all operations, including infrastructure and application security. In this role, you will conduct security architecture reviews, lead compliance efforts, and define our security roadmap.

The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of security engineering experience with a strong focus on cloud security, particularly in AWS. Additional perks include a competitive salary and unlimited PTO.

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in cloud security, with AWS preferred.
• Experience leading SOC 2, ISO 27001, or similar compliance programs.
• Background in application security including secure SDLC practices.

Responsibilities

• Own and execute the security roadmap across all areas.
• Lead SOC 2 Type II compliance program.
• Conduct security architecture reviews for major features.

Skills

Cloud security expertise (AWS preferred)

Programming skills in security tooling

Hands-on with security tools like SAST/DAST

Experience with container security

Strong communication skills

Education

10+ years in security engineering or security architecture

Tools

Security tools (SAST/DAST, SIEM, vulnerability scanners)
