Job summary

Bcore in Herndon, VA seeks a Senior Software Developer / A&A Engineer to design, build, and secure enterprise applications in an Agile environment. You will contribute to Authorization and Assessment (A&A) tasks and collaborate with cross-functional teams to protect assets and support mission needs.

Expertise in C#, .NET, and either Java, Kotlin, or C++ is valued, with 6+ years of software development and security experience.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software development experience, with at least 2 years focused on security engineering and A&A processes.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field or equivalent professional experience.
• Strong proficiency in an object-oriented programming language such as C#, Java, Kotlin, or C++.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented design, data structures, algorithms, and common software design patterns.
• Experience developing and supporting business or enterprise applications.
• Experience with source control, code reviews, testing, debugging, and the Software Development Lifecycle
• Experience working with relational databases, web services, or application integrations.
• Ability to learn new programming languages, frameworks, and systems.
• Knowledge of A&A processes, including identifying and addressing security incidents and compliance issues.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain enterprise applications and services.
• Develop readable, maintainable, and secure software.
• Troubleshoot application defects and production issues.
• Review code and contribute to technical design decisions.
• Work with customers and team members to clarify requirements.
• Maintain technical documentation.
• Participate in planning, code reviews, testing, and software releases.
• Support and improve existing applications, including legacy systems.
• Complete security-relevant A&A tasks, such as risk assessments, vulnerability management, security control testing, and preparing authorization packages.
