Job summary

GovCIO seeks a Senior Application Developer with an active Secret clearance to design, build, and modify application software using Java, ColdFusion, JavaScript, and C#. The role is based in Fairfax, VA with a hybrid work arrangement.

Responsibilities include implementing design patterns, API and COTS integrations, containerizing legacy code, and delivering secure, scalable Java applications for cross-domain data exchange in line with federal standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field with 12+ years of experience in large integrated projects.
• Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and hold DEA suitability.
• Strong knowledge of Java SE/EE, Spring Boot, and RESTful services.
• Experience with cross-domain solution architectures and secure data transfer protocols.
• Familiarity with DOJs and RMF/NIST/FISMA compliance in secure environments.
• Proficient with Maven/Gradle, Git, and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI).
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (AWS GovCloud, Azure Government).
• Understanding of secure coding practices and vulnerability analysis.

Responsibilities

• Implement multiple design patterns.
• Integrate APIs and cross-domain interfaces.
• Containerize legacy code and develop new implementations.
• Develop and execute unit tests to verify code quality.
• Resolve integration issues and security vulnerabilities.
• Develop secure, scalable Java applications for cross-domain data exchange.
• Collaborate with Architects, cybersecurity and government stakeholders.
• Ensure secure communication across classification levels via APIs/enterprise services.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and SDLC compliance.
• Write clean, well-documented code and support CI/CD deployments.
• Refactor legacy systems toward cloud-native, containerized solutions.
• Troubleshoot across development to production environments.
• Ensure data integrity and CDS policy compliance.
