Job summary

Piper Companies in Herndon, VA is seeking an Application Developer to support a government contractor on a national security initiative. This role requires an active Top Secret clearance and onsite reporting at the client location.

You will develop with Java, XML, and integrate COTS/FOSS, navigate Linux and Windows environments, and apply standards across the development life cycle. Angular and Kubernetes experience is a big plus.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree preferred.
2–10 years of professional Java development experience.
Proven ability to work with XML and experience in COTS/FOSS integration and support.
Ability to troubleshoot and navigate multiple operating system environments including Linux and Windows.
Experience with Angular and Kubernetes is a huge plus.
Active Top Secret security clearance required.

Responsibilities

Apply appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle.
Use knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter, and information processing techniques to develop solutions for business/mission applications.
Correct program errors, compile documentation of program development, and analyze system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls.
Ensure software standards are defined and met.
