Job summary

Guidehouse Inc. seeks an Accessibility Subject Matter Expert to partner with product, design, and engineering teams to ensure accessible products.

You will audit systems with tools, recommend solutions for violations, and drive accessibility strategy across the organization. You will socialize and implement policies for Section 508, maintain awareness of federal guidance, and collaborate with UX/UI, testing, and development teams to meet accessibility objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related discipline.
• 5+ years of progressive experience with Section 508 compliance and development standards.
• Experience with compliance testing and evaluation tools and best practices.
• Expert knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG 2.0, Section 508, ARIA) including auditing and testing tools like VPAT.
• Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript and web content management systems.

Responsibilities

• Establish policies, processes and programs to enable Section 508 compliance.
• Keep executives informed via briefings, training, and communications.
• Develop templates to support compliance, reporting and learning.
• Monitor 508 and WCAG guidance from federal bodies and industry sources.
• Collaborate with UX/UI, Scrum, and testing teams to meet 508 requirements.
• Guide technology planning, design, testing, and implementation for compliance.
• Interpret Section 508 and related laws and standards.
• Provide guidance to improve accessibility decisions when procuring tools.
• Lead compliance initiatives across the program.
