Job summary

WatsonBarron Group in Plainsboro, NJ, is seeking a Senior Manager for SEC Reporting & Technical Accounting in a hybrid role (4 days in office). This newly created position targets a high-performing accounting leader with 7+ years of public/private experience.

You will own external reporting, GAAP memos, SOX controls, and collaboration on M&A. CPA required; both technical depth and leadership are essential to drive process improvements and timely disclosures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
• CPA designation is required.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Proven SEC reporting experience, including 10-Q and 10-K.
• Experience partnering with external auditors and regulators.
• In-depth knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
• Experience implementing new accounting standards and research memos.
• Support SOX compliance, internal controls, and external audits.
• Ability to analyze complex transactions and apply guidance.

Responsibilities

• Lead external financial reporting and disclosures for SEC filings and earnings releases.
• Provide technical accounting guidance on complex matters.
• Research accounting issues and prepare U.S. GAAP memos.
• Support collaborations, M&A, and business development.
• Manage SOX risk assessments, controls, testing, and remediation.
• Coordinate SOX, audit, and technical accounting matters.
• Partner cross-functionally on accounting and controls.
• Improve reporting processes, controls, and automation.
• Evaluate AI and technology to enhance reporting and compliance.
• Implement new accounting standards and disclosures.
• Optimize financial reporting systems.
