Job summary

Harmer, Houston-based client partner, seeks an experienced SEC Reporting Manager to oversee the company’s U.S. SEC filings and reporting governance. This role offers high visibility with senior leadership and external auditors, and a chance to shape best practices in financial reporting.

You will lead quarterly and annual filings (10-Qs, 10-Ks), prepare schedules and disclosures, and monitor developments in U.S. GAAP. CPA required; MBA preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
  • CPA is required; MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience in both public accounting and industry.
  • Strong SEC reporting and U.S. GAAP technical accounting background.
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead quarterly and annual SEC filings, including 10-Qs, 10-Ks, and other disclosures.
  • Prepare and review supporting schedules, disclosures, and reporting documentation.
  • Monitor accounting and SEC reporting developments and assess business impact.
  • Perform technical accounting research and draft position memos as needed.
  • Partner with external auditors and internal teams throughout reporting cycles.
  • Support internal management reporting and ad hoc analysis.
  • Ensure strong internal controls and identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Provide guidance and development support to team members.
