Job summary

Marsh & McLennan Companies in New York, NY seeks a Head of SEC Reporting to lead the company’s external reporting and SEC deliverables. You will own end-to-end quarterly and annual SEC cycles, ensuring filings are accurate, timely, and fully compliant, with strong disclosure controls and documentation.

Reporting to the Head of Financial Reporting, you will partner with Accounting Policy, Internal Reporting, Consolidation, and Tax, and mentor a SEC reporting team.

Qualifications

• Active CPA license required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in SEC reporting/external reporting in a large public company environment.
• Expert knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting/disclosure requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, drafting, review, and filing of Form 10-K, 10-Q, and 8-K (and other filings) including financial statements, footnotes, and MD&A support.
• Own SEC reporting calendar and coordinate cross-functional inputs for on-time delivery.
• Oversee XBRL tagging and final production steps via Workiva or similar platform.
• Maintain disclosure controls, tie-out procedures, and documentation standards.
• Partner with Legal and Disclosure Governance to support risk factors and governance disclosures.
• Serve as primary SEC reporting contact for external auditors.
