Job summary

Slate is seeking a Senior Tooling Engineer of Seats Production to lead design, development, sourcing, validation, and launch support of production tooling for automotive interiors. This role collaborates with manufacturing, quality, automation, and suppliers to deliver robust tools and fixtures while driving continuous improvement.

Applicants must have 12+ years of automotive tool design experience or an advanced degree combination, and be authorized to work in the United States.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in automotive manufacturing or 8+ years with Master’s degree or 5+ years with PhD.
• Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and ERP systems.
• Automotive OEM experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design jigs, fixtures, and tools for manufacturing processes.
• Ensure tooling meets product specs, tolerances, and quality standards.
• Collaborate with product and process engineers for DFM.
