Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior Seat Engineering Lead to supervise a team of Seat Engineers and drive design release, integration, and program delivery for global Ford programs.

The role requires a BS in Engineering (Masters preferred), 8+ years in D&R Engineering, strong GPDS experience, and proficiency with D&R tools. Leadership in launching seats with cost, weight, and quality targets is essential; travel to Ford plants and suppliers worldwide is expected.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering; Masters degree preferred.
• 8+ years experience in D&R Engineering.
• Familiarity with GPDS and interpreting process deliverables for Seats Engineering.
• Proficiency with D&R tools including WERS, FEDE BOM, DVP, Deviation, GPIRS, 8D.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a team of Seat Engineers responsible for design, release, and integration of seat components for global programs.
• Manage delivery of the seat system to ensure flawless and timely delivery across major programs.
• Lead development and integration to optimize cost, weight, quality, and craftsmanship.
• Manage program financials and status-to-target for each major program.
• Coordinate program launch activities and provide engineering support.
• Create and execute quality and TVM roadmaps to meet objectives.
• Staffing, succession, and development planning for the group.
• Travel occasionally to Ford and supplier plants for readiness and sign-off.
