Job summary

Definity is seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to design, build, and scale an enterprise automation platform across web and API layers. You are a hands-on technical leader with Playwright and TypeScript expertise, driving reliable automation to improve release confidence.

You will partner with Product, Engineering, QA, DevOps, and Architecture to establish durable test architecture, CI-first standards, and valuable test coverage across critical workflows.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of QA automation experience in modern web or SaaS environments.
• Strong hands-on expertise with Playwright and TypeScript.
• Experience automating UI and API tests within a unified strategy.
• Design scalable test frameworks and reusable abstractions.
• Strong CI/CD integration experience (Azure DevOps or equivalent).
• Working knowledge of Docker-based test execution and SQL for backend checks.

Responsibilities

• Build and evolve a unified automation framework using Playwright and TypeScript.
• Design scalable automation patterns, Page Object Model, and environment-aware config.
• Create robust automated tests for critical user journeys and service workflows.
• Drive CI/CD integration and parallel test execution in Azure DevOps.
• Improve reporting with diagnostics, screenshots, and failure analysis.
• Mentor teammates on automation best practices and standards.
