Job summary

SAS in Cary, North Carolina is seeking a Senior SDET to join the Midtier Platform team. You will update and extend a large test suite, design/ develop code to modernize tests, and lead junior developers.

The role emphasizes automation, quality metrics, and collaboration across engineering, product, and operations. You will mentor others, participate in code reviews, and may contribute to open-source projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
• 8+ years of software testing/development experience.
• Knowledge of Java and Spring in Windows and Linux.
• Strong knowledge of test framework and JUnit.
• Experience using CVS, Gerrit, Git, or GitHub, Eclipse for source code management and code review
• Knowledge of building and maintaining automations in Jenkins.
• Effective communication and strong problem-solving skills.
• Strong learning agility and understanding of development tools/methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and create high quality test automation and provide data to support metrics-based decisions.
• Produce and analyze metrics illustrating the quality of applications and insights for quality direction.
• Triage test failures promptly and maintain health of the build pipeline.
• Collaborate with development, product, operations, and support to ensure quality by design.
• Engage in code reviews for product, test, and infrastructure code.
• Mentor quality engineers and developers through code reviews.
• Participate in open-source projects on behalf of SAS.
• Embrace curiosity, passion, authenticity and accountability.
