Job summary

SAS is hiring a Software Development Engineer in Test (Emerging Careers) in a hybrid role based in Cary, North Carolina. You will contribute to SAS Viya 4 and the Cloud Data Exchange, testing across the SDLC and maintaining test automation to support rapid delivery.

You’ll work with development, product, and operations teams to improve quality, security, and customer experience while leveraging modern testing tools and open-source contributions.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related quantitative field.
• Minimal two years of experience writing software applications, testing software, and/or general programming.
• Demonstrated proficiency in Python and Unix shell script.
• Proficiency with Kubernetes in a CLI environment.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs, HTML, and Jira/Confluence.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain high quality test automation with modern development techniques.
• Apply automated tests at all layers of the stack and in the CD pipeline.
• Produce and analyze quality metrics to guide decisions.
• Collaborate with development, product, operations and support teams.
• Triage test failures and maintain build health.
• Contribute to open-source projects on behalf of SAS.
