Job summary

Pyramid Consulting, Inc. is seeking an SDET (QA Automation) to define and implement scalable quality strategies for backend microservices and modern frontend architectures. You will lead test automation efforts, review Java code and PRs, and mentor engineers to improve testing practices across the team.

You will architect and scale API automation with Core Java, Rest Assured, Cypress or Playwright, and integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software testing or QA engineering.
• Proven SDET Lead or Quality Architect track record.
• Strong Java 11+/17+ and OO design patterns.
• Experience building API test frameworks with Rest Assured.
• Experience UI automation with Cypress or Playwright.
• CI/CD integration and containerized test environments (Docker).
• Strong SQL for backend verification across relational and NoSQL databases.

Responsibilities

• Define, architect, and implement scalable test automation strategies for microservices and web platforms.
• Review Java application source code and PRs with core developers to catch flaws early.
• Lead and mentor QA engineers and developers on modern test automation practices.
• Architect and scale hybrid API automation frameworks using Core Java and Rest Assured.
• Oversee contract testing, performance checks, and validation of RESTful services and message-based systems.
• Architect, implement, and optimize UI automation using Cypress or Playwright.
• Integrate test suites into enterprise CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
• Establish and track quality metrics to drive continuous improvement.
