Job summary

BD is seeking a Senior Software Developer in Test to own and evolve our automated test platform. This is a software engineering role first, designing production-quality code that verifies software and builds reusable test infrastructure.

The Senior Software Developer in Test will work to review PRs, design new modules, and raise the bar on testability across API, browser, and performance testing in a fast-paced healthcare tech environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering/Computer Science is required.
• 3+ years of professional software development experience with OO design and clean code principles.
• Proficiency in Java and ability to design maintainable, extensible code at module/library level.
• Proven experience building test frameworks and shared libraries from scratch.
• Deep understanding of OAuth 2.0 authentication flows including client credentials, PKCE, and token refresh.
• Hands-on experience with browser automation frameworks and page object models.
• Experience designing load simulations and JVM tuning for high-concurrency work.
• Proficiency with multi-module build systems, dependency management, and library versioning.
• Experience owning CI/CD definitions end-to-end, including containerized test environments.
• Familiarity with structured test reporting and static quality tooling.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain a multi-module test infrastructure across API, browser, performance, and protocol tests.
• Develop and version reusable shared libraries, authentication clients, model libraries, and device simulators.
• Build software simulators for external systems and hardware to enable isolated test environments.
• Engineer API client abstractions handling auth, requests, responses, and logging.
• Design and execute load simulations modeling realistic user journeys and define SLOs.
• Author and maintain CI/CD pipelines that run, gate, and report test results across environments.
• Integrate test execution with external test management and defect tracking systems.
• Enforce production-grade engineering standards on test code and abstractions.
• Advise on API contracts, auth flows, and observability from a testability perspective.
• Mentor engineers contributing to the test codebase.
