Job summary

RowsOne in Boca Raton, FL is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to own automated testing for a complex RESTful API that supports our HR application, Employee app, TimeClock devices, and internal admin tools.

The role focuses on building a comprehensive testing strategy grounded in business logic, collaborating with Backend engineers to design and maintain automated tests, and integrating quality gates into our CI/CD pipeline to release with confidence.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional experience in software testing, quality assurance, or software development, with significant SDET experience.
• Experience designing and maintaining automated API and integration tests.
• Experience integrating automated tests into a CI/CD environment.
• Experience analyzing automated test failures and distinguishing between defects and environment issues.
• Ability to independently develop test plans and determine testing strategies for complex features.
• Ability to work closely with developers, Product, DevOps, and QA teams to resolve quality issues.

Responsibilities

• Own the testing strategy for complex backend features, from planning through release.
• Validate features end-to-end through the RESTful API, including functional, integration, regression, and edge-case testing.
• Design, develop, and maintain automated tests for our RESTful API.
• Identify gaps in test coverage and determine where manual vs automated testing provides value.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and establish reliable quality gates for releases.
• Analyze test results, investigate failures, identify defects, and work with Backend engineers to resolve issues.
• Collaborate with the Backend team and Frontend QA/Product to ensure coverage across RowsOne ecosystem.
