Amazon MSK is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer to help build and operate the managed streaming service. You will design scalable features for Kafka-based workloads, contribute to core platform improvements, and collaborate with cross-functional teams across the AWS ecosystem.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience.
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.
• 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Design and build features for the Amazon MSK service and related Kafka platforms.
• Collaborate with engineers to build and scale large AWS services and help define team roadmaps.
• Contribute to upstream open source projects and ensure compatibility with Apache Kafka and related ecosystems.
