Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Senior Network Engineer specializing in Cisco SD-WAN, Meraki, and Viptela to design and modernize enterprise networks across distributed environments. You will architect scalable solutions that support hybrid work and global operations with minimal disruption.

You will collaborate with security, cloud, and operations teams to deliver secure, high-performance networks and mentor implementation teams on SD-WAN design, configuration methods, and troubleshooting practices.

Qualifications

10+ years of experience with enterprise routing and switching, including Cisco switching, routing protocols, QoS, high availability design, and network segmentation.
10+ years designing, implementing, or optimizing SD-WAN technologies in complex enterprise environments.
5–10 years with Cisco Meraki, including SD-WAN architecture, policy design, traffic optimization, and branch connectivity.
5+ years with Juniper technologies in enterprise networks.
Strong hands-on experience with Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN and Viptela, including control, data, and management plane components.

Responsibilities

Design scalable SD-WAN solutions using Cisco Meraki for secure, resilient connectivity across branch, remote, and enterprise locations.
Architect Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN and Viptela solutions to support application-aware routing and multiple transport links.
Define end-to-end network architectures integrating SD-WAN, switching, routing, and security for hybrid work and critical services.
Design and optimize Cisco routing and switching for campus, branch, and data center environments for availability and performance.
Review existing topologies, configurations, and traffic to improve availability and WAN utilization.
Create high- and low-level network design docs, diagrams, standards, migration plans, and implementation guidelines.
Collaborate with security, cloud, and operations teams to align designs with security policies and cloud connectivity.
Provide guidance during incidents related to SD-WAN, routing, switching, and network performance.
Conduct capacity planning and performance analysis to validate bandwidth and growth; recommend upgrades.
