Job description

Our client, a large and complex enterprise organization, is seeking an experienced Scrum Master to support an engineering team by strengthening Agile delivery, improving team collaboration, and creating greater transparency around delivery health. This individual will serve as a delivery leader and Agile coach, helping the team continuously improve how they plan, communicate, collaborate, and deliver. Strong communication and facilitation skills will be especially important in this role, as the Scrum Master will need to create engagement within a quieter team, surface issues that may otherwise go unspoken, and help the team work through ambiguity toward clear decisions.

The ideal candidate brings a strong Agile and Scrum background first and foremost, along with experience applying traditional project or program management practices where appropriate. This is not a traditional Scrum Project Manager role — the focus is on coaching the team, improving delivery practices, protecting engineering focus time, and using data to drive transparency and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Act as a delivery leader and Agile coach, helping the team improve how work is planned, communicated, and delivered.
  • Own and continuously improve the team's Agile delivery cadence, identifying opportunities to make processes more effective and efficient.
  • Facilitate meaningful Scrum events, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, backlog refinement, and sprint reviews.
  • Leverage proven facilitation and problem-solving frameworks, such as LUMA, to drive meaningful conversations and outcomes.
  • Build stronger communication and collaboration across the team, creating an environment where team members are comfortable raising blockers, dependencies, risks, and concerns.
  • Protect engineering focus time by minimizing unnecessary meetings and appropriately pushing back on Product and Engineering leaders when additional process is not adding value.
  • Partner closely with Product and Engineering on priorities, OKRs, capacity, and delivery planning.
  • Proactively identify cross-team dependencies, blockers, and delivery risks and drive them toward resolution.
  • Use Jira metrics and dashboards to provide clear visibility into delivery health, progress, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Facilitate difficult, ambiguous, or cross-functional conversations and guide stakeholders toward clear decisions, ownership, and next steps.
  • Communicate delivery health effectively to both engineering teams and leadership using meaningful data and metrics.
  • Coach team members on Agile principles while promoting continuous improvement, accountability, and collaboration.
The Ideal Candidate
  • Strong hands-on experience as a Scrum Master or Agile delivery leader supporting software engineering or technology teams.
  • Strong knowledge of Agile and Scrum principles, methodologies, and team practices.
  • Demonstrated experience coaching teams and improving Agile delivery, rather than solely organizing or facilitating ceremonies.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and facilitation skills with the ability to engage both technical teams and leadership.
  • Experience identifying and resolving cross-team dependencies, blockers, and delivery risks.
  • Strong working knowledge of Jira, including delivery metrics, reporting, and dashboards.
  • Experience partnering with Product and Engineering teams on prioritization, OKRs, capacity, and delivery planning.
  • Ability to navigate challenging or ambiguous conversations and drive cross-functional stakeholders toward decisions.
  • Ability to appropriately challenge stakeholders, push back when necessary, and protect engineering teams from unnecessary process and distractions.
  • Experience applying traditional project or program management practices, particularly around risks, dependencies, planning, and stakeholder communication.
  • Preferred: experience supporting engineering teams within a large, complex enterprise environment.
  • Preferred: familiarity with LUMA or similar facilitation and human-centered problem-solving frameworks.
  • Preferred: experience leveraging Agile delivery metrics to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Preferred: experience working across Product, Engineering, and multiple dependent technology teams.
Reasons to Love it
  • Opportunity to take on a true delivery leadership and Agile coaching role rather than a purely administrative Scrum Master position.
  • Join a large, complex enterprise environment with meaningful cross-functional exposure to Product and Engineering leadership.
  • Play a pivotal role in shaping a healthier delivery environment — one where risks and dependencies surface earlier, decisions happen faster, and engineering focus time is protected.
  • Use modern Agile facilitation frameworks and data-driven tools, including Jira metrics and dashboards, to drive continuous improvement.
  • Make a visible, measurable impact on team communication, collaboration, predictability, and self-sufficiency.
  • Partner directly with leadership to communicate delivery health and influence organizational decision-making.
