Job summary

Bristol Myers Squibb Co is seeking a Senior Scientist to join the Non-Viral Delivery team in Cambridge, MA, advancing next-generation targeted nanomedicine. You will design bioconjugation strategies and engineering ligand architectures to enable selective delivery to challenging cell types and tissues.

Qualifications

• PhD in Organic Chemistry, Bioengineering, Protein Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related discipline; 2+ years industry experience
• Strong hands-on bioconjugation and linker chemistry expertise
• Experience with nanoparticle delivery systems and biomolecular formats such as proteins, antibodies, and peptides
• Excellent scientific communication and cross-functional teamwork skills

Responsibilities

• Design and develop bioconjugation strategies for targeted nanoparticles across ligand formats, antibodies, fragments, and peptides
• Develop conjugation chemistries and linker strategies for defined conjugates
• Contribute to ligand engineering, site design, and sequence-level modifications for controlled conjugation
• Develop analytical workflows to characterize bioconjugates for lead selection
• Integrate targeting ligands into nanoparticle systems and study effects on properties and delivery
• Collaborate across protein engineering, formulation and delivery sciences, analytical sciences, immunology, and in vivo pharmacology
• Communicate findings and recommendations to multidisciplinary teams and leadership
• Provide scientific mentorship to junior scientists and foster a collaborative culture
