Job summary

10x Genomics seeks an exceptional scientist to drive spatial biology R&D, mapping proteins and biomolecules in intact tissues. You will apply cell biology, proteomics and immunology to optimize assays in a multi-disciplinary team spanning chemistry, software, engineering and microfluidics.

Applicants should have a PhD with 5+ years in proteomics and spatial imaging, plus hands-on experience with high-plex multiplexing and tissue processing.

Qualifications

• PhD in Molecular/Cell Biology, Immunology, Biochemistry or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in proteomics, imaging and spatial techniques, in situ hybridization.
• Hands-on experience with high-plex protein multiplexing technology.
• Experience with tissue processing, histology, immunohistochemistry, cryosectioning, immunofluorescence including surface markers or gene expression.
• Extensive experience working with antibodies, including mAb QC, conjugation, functional testing.
• Strong analytical background.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and quickly changing environment.
• Desire to build game-changing technologies and impact the world of life science research.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to optimization of tissue handling and processing protocols for protein staining, including FFPE samples.
• Design and execute experiments using novel imaging and biochemistry platforms integral to various spatial technology platforms.
• Work closely with computational biologists and software engineers to interpret data.
• Develop robust protocols to be used internally across teams during product development.
