Themis Bios in Pleasanton, CA, is seeking a Senior Scientist to join Applications Development. You will own the biology that our technology runs on, growing cells and turning living systems into actionable single-cell samples for readouts.

This hands-on role bridges bench science with product impact and requires rigorous, reproducible methods. You will work across cell culture, sample prep, perturbation studies, and assay development, collaborating with computational colleagues to interpret data

Qualifications

• PhD/MS with hands-on industry experience in cell biology or related field.
• Demonstrated ability to culture mammalian cells including iPSCs.
• Experience with single-cell RNA-seq workflows and data QC.
• Strong record of designing controlled experiments and interpreting results.
• Clear scientific writing and meticulous bench technique.
• Ability to collaborate with computational teammates on analysis.

Responsibilities

• Own biology for Themis scRNA-seq platform from culture to data.
• Grow and differentiate cells, generate robust single-cell samples.
• Design perturbation studies using drugs or molecules for scRNA-seq readouts.
• Develop transferable assays and QC metrics across operators.
• Work with computational colleagues to interpret results and improve design.
• Translate results into reproducible workflows used by customers.
• Maintain rigorous records and report findings with transparency.
