Job summary

L3Harris Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Scientist/Project Engineer in Salt Lake City to lead day-to-day tactical engineering efforts for Protected and Hybrid SATCOM programs.

You will oversee cost, schedule, and technical aspects, acting as a chief engineer on proposals and coordinating between project teams and management. The role requires an ABET-accredited engineering degree with extensive experience in systems engineering, Earned Value Management, and defense program leadership.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited BS in engineering required; 12+ years experience. Graduate degree preferred; 16+ years if no degree.
• Strong leadership and project-management skills for defense programs.
• Experience with Earned Value Management and cost/schedule estimation.

Responsibilities

• Act as Chief Engineer and Architect for Protected SATCOM portfolio, including technical lead on proposals.
• Serve as single point-of-contact between engineering PM/planning and line management.
• Review project status and budgets; manage schedules and reports.
• Develop mechanisms to monitor progress and drive issue resolution with project teams and customers.
• Coordinate resources and obtain necessary reviews and approvals.
