Job summary

Tempus AI in Boston, NY, and Chicago seeks an Associate Principal Scientist in Pharma R&D to design and execute research projects for top biopharmaceutical partners. The role requires staying current in oncology drug development and applying machine learning and statistical models to big real-world data.

You will communicate complex findings to stakeholders, lead real-world data endpoints, collaborate across teams, and help advance precision medicine across Tempus’ network.

Qualifications

• PhD with 4+ years of working experience in epidemiology, biostatistics, data science, or public health.
• Advanced expertise in observational real-world data and time-to-event methods (survival analysis).
• Proficiency in R, Python, and SQL with strong publication history.
• Experience leading analytical studies from scoping to dissemination.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex RWD endpoints derivation and methodological assessments.
• Collaborate with Research, Engineering & Data Science to build computational solutions.
• Partner with pharma clients to identify value of Tempus platform.
• Stay current with oncology research trends and improve methodologies.
