Job summary

Natera is seeking a Senior Scientist in San Carlos, CA, to lead research on liquid biopsy-based cancer detection. You will design and execute NGS assays, apply multiomic strategies, and advance tests from feasibility to development transfer.

Collaboration with statistics, bioinformatics, and other teams is essential. The role emphasizes independent idea generation, rigorous data analysis, and documentation within a Quality Management System, with opportunities for leadership of research

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in molecular biology, genomics, biochemistry or a closely related field.
• 5-8 years of industry experience or 2+ years post-doctoral research and 3+ years of industry experience.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to research and development planning and innovation.
• Advances nucleic acid based diagnostic tests including planning, testing, and optimization.
• Manages project timelines and deliverables.
• Designs and executes high complexity experiments.
• Coordinates experiments with statistics and bioinformatics teams.
• Communicates progress with managers and colleagues.
• Performs basic data analysis (R, JMP, Excel).
