Job summary

Amgen seeks a Business Owner for Molecular Biology Scientific Data to lead digital tools and data domains across biologics discovery. You will translate complex biology needs into product priorities and scalable digital capabilities, focusing on plasmid design, sequence registration, and related workflows.

You’ll own the data model and work with scientists, software engineers, and data teams to implement integrated solutions and improve data quality for downstream analytics and ML/AI readiness.

Qualifications

• Doctorate or Master’s with 2 years of relevant experience, or Bachelor’s with 4 years of relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge of molecular cloning and plasmid design workflows.
• Experience translating scientific workflows into informatics tools and data models.
• Experience owning or stewarding a scientific product, workflow, or data domain.

Responsibilities

• Lead meetings with molecular biologists and cloning scientists as a primary scientific contact for workflows.
• Translate scientific needs into data and workflow requirements for software teams.
• Partner with technology teams through design, implementation, testing, release, and adoption.
• Ensure data models support plasmid design workflows and established molecule formats.
• Define cross-application data linkages and data integration across systems.
• Lead requirements reviews, user training, and acceptance testing with representative workflows.
• Coordinate release communication, training, and user adoption of new capabilities.
• Define standard practices for capturing high-quality molecular design data.
• Provide scientific context as workflows evolve and data quality improves.
