Advancing People Ltd. is seeking an experienced Senior Scientist in metabolomics/lipidomics with hands-on LC-MS expertise to lead end-to-end workflows from sample prep to data reporting.

You will operate and troubleshoot industry-grade LC-MS systems, develop innovative detection methods, and collaborate across functions to deliver timely results in support of biopharmaceutical research. A PhD or MS with extensive post-grad experience is preferred.

Qualificações

• PhD with 2+ years post-graduation or MSc with 5+ years experience.
• Strong experience in targeted metabolomics LC-MS method development, validation and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency with AB SCIEX QTRAP 6500, Thermo Q Exactive Plus, and triple quad mass spectrometers.
• In-depth knowledge of LC-MS assay validation guidelines and GLP documentation requirements.
• Experience in metabolite identification/spectral analysis and small molecule quantification.
• Proficiency in sample pretreatment techniques and LC separation methods.
• Excellent scientific communication and ability to manage multiple projects.

Responsabilidades

The salary for this Senior Scientist role is $150,000 - $200,000 basic plus company benefits.

The Role

1. Lead the end-to-end implementation of LC-MS metabolomics / lipidomics workflows: sample preparation, method development, validation, data collection/analysis, and technical report writing.
2. Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot mass spectrometers and LC systems (e.g., AB SCIEX QTRAP 6500 series, Thermo Q Exactive Plus, triple quadrupole instruments).
3. Design and implement innovative LC-MS/MS detection methods to address complex matrices and sensitivity/specificity requirements.
4. Write and follow SOPs; participate in drafting validation protocols and GLP-compliant documentation.
5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define study scope, develop analytical strategies, and clearly communicate risks, timelines, and results.
6. Support instrument validation, maintenance plans, and inventory management of critical standards/reagents.
7. Mentor junior scientists and foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
8. Stay current with metabolomics / lipidomics literature and introduce relevant advancements (methods, reagents, software)

The Person

1. PhD in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related Life Sciences (with 2+ years of post-graduation experience) or Master's degree (with 5+ years of experience).
2. Solid practical experience in targeted metabolomics LC-MS method development, validation, and troubleshooting.
3. Proficient in operating platforms such as AB SCIEX QTRAP 6500, Thermo Q Exactive Plus, and triple quadrupole mass spectrometers.
4. In-depth understanding of LC-MS assay validation guidelines; familiar with GLP compliance documentation requirements.
5. Experience in metabolite identification/spectral analysis and small molecule quantification.
6. Proficient in biological sample pre-treatment techniques (protein precipitation, liquid-liquid extraction, solid-phase extraction) and LC separation methods (reversed-phase, HILIC).
7. Proficient in mass spectrometry data processing systems, with clear scientific communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring on-time delivery.
