Job summary

Applied Physical Sciences (APS) in Concord, MA, with San Diego teams, seeks Senior Scientists to design and build maritime sensing, communications, and autonomy software for national security applications.

Ideal candidates hold an MS or PhD and have 5+ years of experience in C++ or Rust, Linux, and modern tools. You will join an interdisciplinary team and contribute to software architecture and ship/subsea autonomy programs.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in computer science, engineering, ocean engineering, applied math/physics, or related technical discipline.
• 5+ years of related professional experience.
• Fluency with C++ or Rust in a Linux environment and modern software tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement software for communication and networking protocols in challenging environments.
• Develop command and control interfaces, simulations, and visualizations.
• Create acoustic signal processing and autonomy algorithms for subsea sensor systems and autonomous platforms.
• Contribute to autonomous maritime surface and subsea systems development.
