Legend Biotech is seeking aSenior Scientist, In Vivo CAR-T as part of the R&D team based in Philadelphia, PA.

Role Overview

Legend Biotechnology is at the forefront of developing innovative cell-based therapies. We are seeking an experienced and dynamic senior scientist to support our in vivo CAR-T cell therapy program. If you're passionate about advancing groundbreaking treatments and have a strong background in cellular immunotherapy, this role is for you.

The successful candidate should possess extensive knowledge and research experience in virology, molecular biology, and CAR-T cell therapy. The candidate will be able to contribute to in vivo cell therapy platform and pipeline development through lentivirus preparation, ex vivo and in vitro function assays to evaluate product potency and safety. 2-3 years of biotech or pharmaceutical industry or postdoc experience is required.

You will collaborate with team members and cross-functional teams, including research, development, and manufacturing, to drive the successful translation of preclinical findings into clinical applications. Your expertise will be critical in advancing our mission to improve patient outcomes.

The candidate needs to demonstrate the ability to deliver scientific results with integrity and on timeline, show the value of collaboration and teamwork, and provide expertise and team support in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop cell and gene therapy platform and optimize cell-based immunoassays, including vector design, virus packaging and titering, immune cell isolation and expansion, multi-color flow cytometry, ELISA, cytotoxic assays, and VCN analysis.
• Plan experiments to test different designs to deliver reliable and consistent data.
• Independently design and execute experiments, document and interpret scientific results, and present the data within research and cross-functional teams.
• Experience supporting projects from early research to clinical stage is a plus.
• Stay alert to industry developments and maintain a good sense of new tech/platforms in the field.
• Lab support work.

Requirements

• PhD in virology, immunology, cell biology, or a master's with extensive experience.
• More than 2 years' post-graduate experience in virology and human immunology; 2-3 years of industry experience in cell and gene therapy is preferred.
• Knowledge of molecular biology, T cell culture, flow cytometry, and animal models is preferred.
