Job summary

EMD Serono seeks an experienced immunologist to help shape next-generation cancer immunotherapies. You will drive early drug discovery with human immune and tumor cell assays, build translational models, and guide cross-functional teams to IND-enabling decisions.

The role requires strong T-cell biology expertise, leadership in cross-functional settings, and a track record of impactful contributions in immunology or oncology research.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of immunology/immuno-oncology experience in academia or industry.
• Master's degree with 5+ years hands-on immunology/immuno-oncology work.
• PhD with 2+ years post-PhD hands-on immunology/immuno-oncology experience.

Responsibilities

• Shape next-gen cancer immunotherapies and contribute to project ideas.
• Design and oversee in vitro/ex vivo pharmacology studies with immune/tumor cells.
• Build human immunology models to de-risk candidates and translationally inform decisions.
• Scout and implement new assay platforms to improve data quality and throughput.
• Generate in vitro data for target selection and IND-enabling programs.
• Present results to multidisciplinary teams and manage CRO/academic collaborations.
