Job Description

Background of Biologics Drug Product Development

The Biologics Drug Product Development (BIO DPD) team develops antibody drug conjugates (ADC) and other biologics using state-of-the-art formulation and analytical technologies. We generate valuable intellectual property through new formulation compositions, cost-effective manufacturing processes, and by preparing and defending CMC (Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Control) regulatory content.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to support developability assessments for candidate molecules across various modalities. The candidate will support early-stage assessment of candidates from the Discovery pipeline, working closely with scientists from Discovery, Analytical, and Process R&D teams.

Your Responsibilities
  • Characterize oligonucleotides (siRNA, mRNA), monoclonal antibodies, antibody-conjugates, novel multispecifics, and gene therapies via LCMS and physiochemical assessments.
  • Utilize modern LC-MS instruments and techniques to understand degradation pathways and assess therapeutic biologics' quality.
  • Evaluate stability (chemical & physical) of biologics under various solution conditions.
  • Compile and assess analytical data to support candidate screening, including structure and impurity/variant characterization.
  • Build and manage strategic alignments with stakeholders, revise workflows, and manage project timelines and resources.
  • Operate within a matrix environment, aligning strategies and influencing stakeholders.
  • Review data, prepare technical memos and reports.
  • Mentor junior staff on troubleshooting equipment and experiments.
  • Engage in cross-functional scientific initiatives, present data at conferences, and publish research findings.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years, Master’s with 10+ years, or PhD with 4+ years in chemistry, chemical engineering, biology, or related fields.
  • Experience in LCMS characterization of oligonucleotides and therapeutic antibodies.
  • Knowledge of genetic medicines such as AAVs and LNPs is highly desirable.
  • Deep understanding of LC/ESI-HR-MS techniques and protein degradation mechanisms.
  • Experience with PTM and chemical modification analysis.
  • Additional skills in robotics and protein analytical techniques are beneficial.
  • Motivated, results-oriented, with excellent communication skills.
  • Flexible, innovative, and collaborative team player.
Key Competencies
  • Builds strong relationships, learns quickly, challenges the status quo, fosters innovation, and manages change effectively.
