Job Summary
We are seeking a Principal Scientist 1 for our Discovery site located Worcester, MA We are seeking a highly-motivated individual with extensive hands-on experience in developing large and small molecule bioanalytical assays by LC-MS/MS to join our discovery bioanalytical team. The scientist will be responsible for method development and execution of quantitative assays, critical review of data, mentoring junior staff, and maintaining analytical equipment. Individuals in this role will also serve as primary point of communication with the clients. The scientist is expected to work independently to deliver high-quality non-GLP data in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate in this position will have: A solid understanding of analytical approaches and experience of LC-MS bioanalysis. Experience in extraction and analysis of biological samples, data generation, review of results and scientific presentationExcellent scientific communication and interpersonal skillsDemonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with colleagues at various levelsAttention to detail and the ability to critically analyze and verify data prior to data releaseExceptional method development and assay troubleshooting skillsTechnical proficiency in operation of analytical instrumentation including chromatography and mass spectrometry systems.
Other: Full understanding of regulatory requirements of study types assigned, as well as Testing Facility SOPs, as appropriate. Knowledge of applicable international guidelines for all types of studies. Demonstrate leadership skills as they pertain to intra- and interdepartmental initiatives, Sponsor interactions, and business development. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize work and meet deadlines. Proficiency in the use of standard software including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc. and analytical instrumentation software.
Job Qualifications
The following are minimum qualifications related to the Principal Scientist 1 position:
Education: Bachelor’s degree (B.S./B.A.) or equivalent in a scientific related discipline. Related Master’s degree (M.S./M.A.) or Ph.D. preferred.Experience: Minimum of 7 years related experience in the contract research, academic, or pharmaceutical industry. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.Certification/Licensure: Certification as appropriate for specialty preferred.Other: Full understanding of regulatory requirements of study types assigned, as well as Testing Facility SOPs, as appropriate. Knowledge of applicable international guidelines for all types of studies. Demonstrate leadership skills as they pertain to intra- and interdepartmental initiatives, Sponsor interactions, and business development. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize work and meet deadlines. Proficiency in the use of standard software including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc. and analytical instrumentation software.
Compensation Data
The pay range for this position is between $100,000/yr. -$110,000/yr. Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
