Job summary

AbbVie seeks a Senior Scientist II to conceive, implement, and execute novel scientific research and development. You will independently develop, optimize methods, and generate data to support early phase NCEs, especially synthetic peptides, in preclinical and clinical development.

You will collaborate across Analytical R&D and cross-functional partners, leading peptide analytics, impurity profiling, and method development with high autonomy and scientific initiative.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 (BS), 10 (MS), or 4 (PhD) years of related industry experience.
• Strong analytical problem-solving and peptide development expertise.
• Hands-on HPLC method development experience preferred.
• Familiar with spectroscopic techniques as related to peptides and small molecules.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support peptide product development from an analytical perspective, with cross-functional teams.
• Develop and optimize analytical methods for peptide and small-molecule substances.
• Utilize a range of analytical techniques to study impurities and impurity profiling.
• Work autonomously with minimal direction from supervisor.
• Initiate new areas of investigation that advance the development pipeline.
