Job summary

AbbVie seeks a Senior Scientist II to independently conceive and execute novel scientific research in analytical development, focusing on transitioning NCEs and synthetic peptides from discovery to development. You will collaborate across PCS, Process Chemistry, QA, and CMC-Regulatory affairs to deliver robust analytical capabilities.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree or equivalent with strong analytical focus and experience in peptide development.
• Experience with HPLC and method development; understanding of spectroscopic techniques related to peptides.
• Ability to discuss organic chemistry topics in analytical R&D with cross-functional partners.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support peptide product development from an analytical perspective.
• Apply advanced analytics to drive the pipeline and research initiatives.
• Develop analyses for drugs substances, impurities, and impurity profiling.
• Independently perform lab research and method development in a fast-paced team.
• Design follow-on experiments and interpret multidisciplinary data.
• Process and visualize data to inform project decisions.
• Implement analytical control strategies to advance drug discovery candidates.
