Nabsys is seeking a Senior Scientist to lead DNA extraction and input sample compatibility development within the Assay Development group. This hands-on role will define the range of sample types compatible with our genome mapping workflow, from DNA isolation through sample preparation chemistry, and will drive the project end-to-end as a bench-based individual contributor.

Qualifications

• PhD in biochemistry or molecular biology with 3+ years of industry experience in genomics or biotechnology.
• Strong knowledge of DNA extraction and manipulation techniques using enzymatic reactions.
• Experience extracting high-molecular-weight genomic DNA (gDNA) from diverse biological sources.
• Familiarity with methods for assessing DNA integrity and fragment length (e.g., Qubit, TapeStation, Fragment Analyzer, Femto Pulse, pulsed-field gel electrophoresis).
• Strong desire to remain bench-based, personally executing experiments while providing technical leadership.
• Demonstrated ability to drive development projects independently and coordinate work with cross-functional partners.

Responsabilités

• Own development projects from design to implementation, establishing and extending compatibility of input material types with sample prep chemistry.
• Design, execute, and troubleshoot bench experiments, generating primary data to drive decisions.
• Optimize DNA extraction and preparation chemistry to accommodate sample types and improve workflow performance.
• Evaluate a broad range of biospecimen types across collection and storage conditions and assess impact of pre-analytical variables on DNA quality.
• Serve as the primary technical contact for input sample type and DNA isolation questions.
• Maintain awareness of DNA extraction technologies and long-read sequencing platforms.
• Perform data analysis to interpret results, identify trends, and inform next steps.
• Communicate findings and recommendations to cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Prepare clear presentations and reports to align progress with objectives.
