Job summary

MillenniumSoft Inc. seeks a DNA Extraction Scientist for a 12+ month contract in the Research Triangle Park area. You will receive and log microbial samples, perform DNA extraction and QC, and support qPCR, library prep, and NGS workflows, manually or with automation.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a life science, 2+ years in a molecular biology lab, and accuracy in documentation in a GLP/LIMS environment. Familiarity with laboratory automation is a plus.

Qualifications

• B.A./B.S. in a life science field is required.
• 2+ years in a molecular biology laboratory.
• Experience with DNA extraction and QC; familiarity with qPCR/NGS is a plus.
• Ability to follow GLP/SOPs and maintain accurate documentation.

We are seeking a temporary associate to join our team as a DNA extraction scientist. This team member will receive and log microbial samples, and perform DNA extraction and QC manually or using laboratory automation. The team member may also participate in the execution of various molecular assays including qPCR, library preparation, and next generation sequencing (NGS).

Duration - 12+ Months Contract

Total Hours/week - 40.00 1st Shift

Job Requirements And Experience

• B.A./B.S. in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Biotechnology, or related field
• 2+ year experience in molecular biology laboratory environment (university or industry)
• Demonstrated expertise in DNA isolation and QC is required
• Excellent attention to detail with an understanding of laboratory practices is required
• Learning agility and timely execution of tasks is required
• Candidate must be comfortable running laboratory automation protocols
• Candidate must be comfortable with troubleshooting DNA isolation and QC procedures
• Experience with molecular techniques such as qPCR and NGS a plus
