Job summary

Bristol Myers Squibb is seeking a highly motivated scientist in Cambridge, MA, within the Discovery Biotherapeutics group. You will lead cellular assay development for antibody therapeutics, validating targets and solving complex biology problems while collaborating across sites.

The role emphasizes immunology/cancer biology, experience with TCEs/ADCs, and robust cellular readouts. This is an individual contributor role with matrix management opportunities and a strong culture of collaboration

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 7+ years of academic/industry experience, or Master's with 5+ years, or PhD with 2+ years
  • Background in molecular and cell biology with specialization in immunology or oncology is strongly preferred
  • Ability to design, execute and interpret functional characterization assays
  • Hands-on experience with cellular assays and readouts to dissect mechanism of action
  • Experience with antibodies/biologics; ADCs or TCEs a plus
  • Flow cytometry, imaging (Incucyte) experience is a must; automation/minilaturization desirable
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and ability to work on matrixed teams

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement cellular screening assays for antibody-based biologics
  • Develop mechanistic assays for various antibody modalities
  • Generate cell lines and perform functional screening assays (reporter, AlphaLISA, flow-imaging)
  • Characterize protein reagents for in vitro selection or assay components
  • Participate in target ideation and testable hypotheses for validation
  • Identify new technologies and automate/AI-driven data analysis workflows
  • Represent assay work on multi-disciplinary project teams and present data
  • Meticulously document experiments in Electronic Notebook and Benchling
