L3Harris Technologies in Yorba Linda, CA is seeking a Scientist, Electrical Engineer to lead FPGA/ASIC development with a focus on GPS-related RF design and DSP techniques. You will translate customer requirements into architectures, define and link specifications, and drive verification across hardware, software, and test disciplines.

The role requires strong leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and experience with DV/UVM/systemVerilog, plus travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in multi-processor FPGA/ASIC development from RTL through timing closure.
• Schematic capture and PCBA layout using EE CAD tools (Altium/ Mentor Graphics).
• Experience leading design teams and project management with clear annual goals.
• 6+ years in receiver, antenna, or radio design (RF).
• 4+ years embedded hardware design.
• 2+ years FPGA design with DSP emphasis.
• 7+ years in MATLAB/Simulink, P-Spice, ADS, Altium, HFSS; 2+ years ModelSim.

Responsibilities

• Develop FPGA/ASIC architectures from requirements and cascade to subsystems.
• Define qualification test plans to verify architecture against customer requirements.
• Lead cross-functional teams (SW, Systems, ME, Test) and manage program reviews.
• Prepare engineering baselines and contribute to proposal inputs.
• Interface with program leadership and provide progress updates.
• Support design reviews and participate in product development lifecycle.
• Travel 5 to 10% as required.
