Job summary

Ostara Inc. in the St. Louis area is seeking a Senior Scientist, Product and Analytical Development to lead development, characterization, and optimization of fertilizer products and analytical methods.

The role requires expertise in fertilizer chemistry, mineralogy, and XRD, with strong abilities in data analysis, process troubleshooting, and cross-functional collaboration. Travel up to 40% in US/Canada is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in formulation science or related field (chemical engineering, materials science, etc.)
• 5 or more years experience with hands-on experience in product development, analytical chemistry, and formulation science.
• Fertilizer technology, mineral processing, process development, or industrial research experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead bench- and pilot-scale development, screening, evaluation, and optimization of fertilizer formulations and product line extensions.
• Coordinate plant trials and convert laboratory and production results into actionable operating guidance.
• Translate complex technical results into clear recommendations and support product launches.
