Ostara is seeking a Senior Scientist in Product and Analytical Development in the St. Louis area.

This role leads development, characterization, and optimization of fertilizer products, raw materials, and analytical methods, with emphasis on XRD, process troubleshooting, product quality, and innovation. You will collaborate across Commercial, Operations, and Supply Chain to translate findings into scalable, safe, and commercially viable solutions, mentoring team members and defining technical

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in formulation science or related field.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• 5+ years experience with hands-on product development, analytical chemistry, and formulation science.

Responsibilities

• Lead bench- and pilot-scale development, screening, evaluation, and optimization of fertilizer formulations and product line extensions.
• Design laboratory simulations and studies that support scale-up and commercialization.
• Develop, validate, and maintain analytical methods, calculations, and SOPs.
• Lead mineralogical, physical, and chemical characterization of materials and products.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring across cross-functional teams.
• Manage multiple projects, priorities, and external relationships with budget discipline.
