Job summary

Brio Group in South San Francisco is seeking an experienced Principal Research Associate to support cell culture, differentiation, and analytical research activities. The role focuses on mammalian cell culture, 2D/3D workflows, and analytical testing such as flow cytometry and ELISA.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on culture experience, including 3D systems or bioreactors, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate across teams.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Cell Biology, Biotechnology, Bioengineering, or related field.
• Hands-on mammalian cell culture and differentiation experience.
• Experience with iPSC/PSC culture strongly preferred.
• Experience with 3D suspension culture or bioreactor systems is a plus.
• Familiarity with flow cytometry, ELISA, or related analytical techniques.
• Ability to independently execute experiments and manage multiple priorities.
• Previous senior-level, hands-on research role preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform mammalian and stem cell culture, including expansion, maintenance, differentiation, and viability assessments.
• Support 2D and 3D cell culture workflows, including suspension culture and bioreactor operations.
• Conduct analytical testing using flow cytometry, ELISA, and other cell-based assays.
• Monitor experimental performance, troubleshoot protocols, and maintain accurate laboratory documentation.
• Collaborate with scientific teams to support multiple ongoing research activities.
