Job summary

Pfizer is seeking a Senior Scientist in Cardiovascular Discovery Biology to guide the drug discovery process from hypothesis to target validation. You will work with interdisciplinary teams to explore atherosclerosis biology and apply advanced cellular, molecular, and animal-model techniques.

The role emphasizes independent and collaborative work, communication of complex science, and mentorship of junior scientists within a dynamic research environment at Pfizer. Relocation may be available.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Cardiovascular Biology, or related fields.
  • 1–2 years postdoctoral or relevant industry experience in drug discovery.
  • Demonstrated expertise in cardiovascular or atherosclerosis biology.
  • Proficiency in in vitro and in vivo cardiovascular-atherosclerotic systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with scientific rigor and adaptability.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Apply scientific expertise to develop strategies for identifying and validating therapeutic targets aligned with IMRU priorities.
  • Apply cellular, molecular, and animal model techniques to investigate mechanisms of plaque progression.
  • Stay current with cutting-edge preclinical and translational science developments and integrate relevant advances.
  • Build and maintain collaborations with academic partners and Pfizer scientists.
  • Communicate research findings through publications, presentations, and internal briefings.
  • Uphold highest standards of scientific integrity, quality, and regulatory compliance.
  • Support development of junior scientists through mentorship and collaboration.
