Job summary

DuPont Water Solutions in Wilmington, Delaware invites applications for a Senior Scientist - Applications R&D. In this customer-facing role you will serve as a scientific expert, partnering with clients to apply ion exchange and separation technologies to bioprocessing challenges.

You will design laboratory studies, develop new applications, and collaborate across R&D, Technical Service, Marketing and Commercial teams to deliver technical solutions and support business growth.

Qualifications

• PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biochemical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field, or expected completion within three months.
• Up to four years of relevant industry experience or internships.
• Hands-on experience with liquid chromatography (HPLC) or related separation techniques.
• Familiarity with life sciences, biotechnology, biopharmaceutical manufacturing, or related industries.
• Strong problem-solving and experimental design capabilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, customer-focused environment.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and collaboration skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Ability to travel up to 20%.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a customer-facing technical expert supporting DuPont's ion exchange and separation technologies.
• Partner with customers to understand challenges, identify opportunities, and develop solutions delivering value.
• Design and execute laboratory studies to solve purification challenges and validate new applications.
• Lead and contribute to application development projects in bioprocessing and growth areas.
• Collaborate with global cross-functional teams to advance technologies and support commercial opportunities.
• Develop technical content and training materials such as presentations, notes, videos, and manuals.
• Deliver technical presentations, seminars, demonstrations, and training sessions for internal and external audiences.
• Represent DuPont at conferences and industry events to showcase technologies and gather market insights.
• Identify customer needs and translate market trends into new application opportunities.
