Job summary
Xaira Therapeutics is recruiting a hands-on Biophysics Scientist in the protein analytics group in the San Francisco Bay Area. The role focuses on discovering and developing therapeutic antibodies, including monospecific and multispecific formats, using BLI and SPR to measure binding kinetics and affinity.
Applicants should have a PhD with 5+ years in industry (or MS/BS with 10+ years) in biophysics/biochemistry, plus hands-on ELISA/BLI/SPR.
Qualifications
- PhD with 5+ years of industry experience in biophysics, biochemistry, structural biology, or related field.
- Extensive experience in antibody screening including monoclonals and bispecifics.
- Hands-on ELISA, BLI and SPR platform experience (Carterra, Biacore).
- Proficiency with data analysis software (GraphPad Prism) and statistics.
Responsibilities
- Support discovery and development of therapeutic molecules through hands-on laboratory work.
- Characterize antibodies using BLI/SPR to determine binding kinetics and affinity.
- Screen antibodies for off-target binding via ELISA and polyreactivity assays.
- Perform early developability assessments using SPR, DLS, DSF, SEC and ELISA.
- Analyze data, curate results, and present findings to cross-functional teams.
