Job summary

Waters, in collaboration with BD, seeks a Scientist/Manager to lead single-cell multiomics development for the Rhapsody platform in a fast-paced team. You will drive projects from feasibility through transfer to manufacturing, collaborating with commercial, engineering, bioinformatics, quality, and operations to deliver high-quality reagents and consumables.

The role requires a PhD with 8+ years’ research (5+ in industry), strong NGS experience, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, biomedical sciences, or a related field.
• 8+ years of research experience, including 5+ years in industry.
• Extensive experience with RNA-seq and other NGS techniques, library prep, sequencing, and data analysis.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
• Demonstrated ability to develop assay products, critically analyze data, and maintain excellent experimental records.

Responsibilities

• Lead development from feasibility to verification, validation, and tech transfer for high-quality product launches.
• Partner with commercial, engineering, bioinformatics, quality, and operations teams to launch reagents and consumables.
• Support Operations to finalize manufacturing specs, BOMs, SOPs, and QC protocols.
• Provide sustaining support for launched products to maintain quality.
• Design and perform hands-on experiments to meet development goals.
• Review literature and data to guide project progress.
• Develop protocols, technical notes, posters, and presentations showing Rhapsody platform performance.
• Build a collaborative team with clear communication and timely decisions.
