Job summary

Quest Diagnostics in Texas is seeking a qualified professional to manage analytical projects in R&D, supervising assay design, validation and implementation. The role also handles special projects and acts as a technical consultant to maintain testing reliability, diagnose failures and implement corrective action.

You will assist in developing and maintaining the R&D department, train staff on new methods, coordinate resources, and ensure documentation meets licensing requirements.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of R&D experience with a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate clinical or applied science field of study, or 1–2 years of experience with a Master's or a PhD with extensive experience in the listed analytical techniques.
• Experience supervising bench-level projects and coordinating resources across R&D teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and provides bench level supervision of projects for R&D using HPLC, GC, GC/MS, LC-MS/MS, and ICP/MS techniques.
• Coordinates the implementation of new procedures within the department and with other support departments.
• Performs statistical analysis and validation of new methods; writes summaries for method documentation.
• Trains staff in new methods and instrumental aspects.
• Manages special projects and coordinates resources and personnel.
• Acts as a resource for HPLC, GC, GC/MS and LC-MS/MS related questions.
• Maintains testing reliability; diagnosing test failures and implementing corrective action.
• Maintains records of maintenance to satisfy licensing requirements.
