Job summary

AbbVie is seeking a Senior Scientist to drive AI-enabled drug discovery across small molecule programs. The role focuses on identifying, developing, and deploying innovative computational hit generation methods in close collaboration with medicinal chemists, biologists, and chemoinformatics experts.

The successful candidate will implement, debug, and maintain ML-based tools in Python, evaluate AI-generated chemical spaces, and contribute to workflows that accelerate lead generation while

Qualifications

• Degree in a relevant field with experience developing ML models for chemical/biological data.
• Experience with modern computational medicinal chemistry approaches preferred.
• Strong communication and ability to explain complex ideas to non-specialists."

Responsibilities

• Identify, develop, and deploy computational hit generation methods for drug discovery.
• Collaborate with medicinal chemists, structural biologists, biochemists, and other chemoinformatics experts.
• Develop workflows for predictive modeling of binding affinities and PK properties.
• Design and evaluate AI-generated chemical spaces with emphasis on synthetic tractability.
• Communicate rationale for selected methodologies to project teams.
