Job summary

H.B. Fuller, a leader in folds of adhesives and sealants, is seeking a Senior Scientist to advance aerospace polysulfide sealants.

You will direct research and development from concept to commercialization, partnering with manufacturing, regulatory, quality, and commercial teams. The role emphasizes hands-on formulation, DOE-based experimentation, and project leadership with responsibilities for product qualification and portfolio maintenance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Polymer Science, or related technical discipline with 5+ years of industry experience.
• Master's degree with 3+ years of industry experience.
• PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Polymer Science, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead R&D projects focused on aerospace polysulfide sealant technologies using Stage-Gate and project management methodologies.
• Develop, formulate, and optimize sealant products to meet customer, regulatory, and industry performance requirements.
• Design and execute experiments using DOE principles and statistical analysis to evaluate product performance and identify formulation improvements.
• Conduct mechanical, adhesion, chemical resistance, and durability testing, including peel testing and Instron testing methodologies.
• Mentor junior scientists and collaborate with cross-functional teams to scale up and commercialize new technologies.
